A Visit to the Veteran's Home

Father Visits Veteran's Home

Father Andrew paid a visit to Joe Kopcha at the Veterans home in Manteno, IL on October 22. Joe is the donor of the largest bell for our new bell tower. Pictured with Father Andrew are John and Karen Verderber. Karen is Joe's Sister. Joe and Father Andrew had a discussion about God and how he created everything in the universe. Joe was pleased that he could donate the bell and will try to attend when it is blessed. Roger the dog shown here is a certified nursing home therapy dog owned by the Verderbers.

During it's usual weekly practice session, members of the choir begin to prepare for their upcoming Christmas concert. They have been asked once again to participate in the upcoming Lemont Christmas Concert.

Father Andrew Visits St. Herman in Littleton, Colorado

Father's Trip to Littleton

Father Andrew was invited to attend the 30th anniversary of St. Herman in Littleton Colorado a mission parish which he was the founding Priest in 1972. Since he left three other Priests, Father James Worth, Father Eugene Tarris and Fr. John Armstrong, (the present rector) continued building up the parish.

Bishop Tikhon of the Diocese of the West celebrated the Liturgy with the former priests concelebrating. Fr Andrew was please with progress that has been made over the years. St. Herman is completing a new addition which will be dedicated to fellowship and adult education. Below are more scenes from his visit.

Garden Center Visits St.Luke

Garden Center Van Arrives

Several of our parishioners visit the Garden Center each month for visitation and a prayer service. This month the residents of the Garden Center came to visit St. Luke on a field trip. Above we can see the van from the center arrive.

Father Andrew reads a Bible Story

Father Andrew read a Bible Story and explained it and then names of the departed family memebers of the residents were gathered and a memorial service was held for them. Father Andrew explained that if they were unable to attend the funeral when these loved ones passed away that this was in a way like being there.
